Wearables

All the wearables. What a space.

In "Peronsal fitness tech" I have more focused collection of things I've tried personally.

Garmin

Garmin + FirstBeat

Devices I own (not backlinked):

Also the Varia and Rally pedals. Sam has a Forerunner, and had an older one too. A couple versions of older HR straps around.

Whoop

They get their own page from my experience

Whoop

Samsung

Now they have a ring too.

Oura

I haven't personally tried an Oura ring.

  • Supposed to very good for sleep.
  • Likely not perfect for activity, but okay.
  • They were/are used in the LEMURS study.

Fitbit

The OG wearable (well, okay, looking at you Pebble). I've played around with these, Sam has had a variety of them.

Apple watch

Integrates natively with Apple Health. By market share in the US, the most important wearable.

With WatchOS 9/10, and the Series 8 and Ultra models, they've been coming towards fitness.

DCR covers this better than I could.

Google

Pixel watch…bought FitBit. With Samsung, behind Android Health Connect.

Coros

New-ish running focused brand.

Withings

I have tried one of these watches, and I'm very interested in the fancy scale.

InBody

Tried one at the local CrossFit gym. Here's my report:
