It works! 2026 update: after almost 4 years,
the display is no longer…displaying.
They'll give me 25% off retail on a new model,
having stopped repairing this one late last year.
I think I'll go back to using the Garmin Forerunner 955 as a head unit.
One of the main reasons I got this was so that I could turn off in-zone
alerts doing workouts,
and today I just did my workout from memory with the watch
which was … enjoyable even.
Update on the update: I caved and bought the Garmin 1050 so I can keep having fun
chasing live segments.

I had one issue where the battery completely drained over the winter in 2023-2024, and tech support helped me reset it.
The battery doesn't last super forever, maybe only like 10 hours. For long stuff would need to connect a charger or something.
Pairs super nicely with Garmin Varia Radar, and supports workouts from TrainerRoad nicely.
