Ebike woes

Backlinks: Cut the motor wires

It's always an adventure biking and ebiking to work. Less so biking, other than it takes some time. The ebike is always breaking in various ways, and I'm always tinkering with it.

Swapped to slicks (and pedals with a flat side) this morning… got a flat 3 miles in. See flat:

Got it changed carefully not pinching or getting more dirt in (must have pinched the tube during the swap?). This is the pinch:

Ready to roll (not quite: check that torque arm):

I remembered that I forgot to attach the torque arm, 10 miles later… made the mistake of hitting the regen to stop which swung the torque arm forward and totally smushed the motor wires… womp womp. No obvious shorts happened: controller light on, 12v system still going, but nothing on the CA. Will have to repair the wire and then see… emailed Grin on <2026-03-28 Sat> to see if they can do the repair. Phone died waiting for a ride so I collected a small mountain of trash and cans.

Thanks Sam and MaryAnne for the ride!

Here's a photo of the damage:
