Niner ATTACH
Backlinks: Bikes
Bought at a bike swap at Ski Rack. On the trail in
:Came with SRAM X0 and some significant wear on the drive side chainstay, but has held up. Scandium frame.
2019
I sold the Rockshox Reba RL 29 on eBay for 232.50 back on Mon, Nov 4, 2019. All was part of a kit that I was going to weld a bike together, never happened. Goes here as a mountain bike part?
Ebike conversion ATTACH
Not 100% sure when I did the swap over, but as an ebike on
:
And on
:
2022
In 2022ish I partially swapped on parts that I had for a 10 speed mountain bike group, IIRC. I still have some of the X0 9-speed stuff, and the crankset for the 10-speed in storage.
2024
Hadn't really ridden all year, lent it to Kris for hunting in the fall.
2025
Still an ebike on
, having been lent to Kris in the fall 2024.
Going to convert back to a mountain bike when I get it back.
Bought a new chain today:
- KMC X10 10-Speed Chain, $25.00 each
Will definitely need this after the abuse from the ebike motor. I think the cassette will be okay.
WAITING Install new chain on niner, back as mountain bike
- State "WAITING" from "IN-PROGRESS"
- State "IN-PROGRESS" from "TODO"
This also means putting the crankset back on, etc. Sure hope the cassette is okay…
Got the bike back, BB in, crankset on, cleaned casette and new chain all on
night. With a little adjustment it's shifting smoothly on the bike stand. Could not find the shifter anywhere, I must have sold it or something.Need a front derailleur and shifter, then a brake a fork service, and then it should be rocking.
I'll call laughing dog today and see if they have any extra front shifter and derailleurs lying around. They're cheap on ebay, as little as $10. I should be able to do a brake service myself!
Update
: Laughing Dog is closed Monday, Hampshire Bike Exchange said I could look through their parts bin. I got a flat riding in, Kris gave me a ride. I found an x7 front mech but no trigger shifter. Also bought a bunch of housing and brake cables and cleaner for Shutesbury Rec bike day. Bought a shifter on ebay while waiting at the desk.Walked over to Big Y and snagged supplies for coffee for teacher appreciation day while Kris got his laptop from umass. He picked me up and drove me home.
Update
: The shifter came in over the weekend…well the packaging did! The shifter must have fallen out of the bag in shipping. The way things are, I need to ship back the empty bag. I'll wait to do that before ordering the new shifter…TODO Service brakes
Bleed and put in new pads, I'm sure it needs them
