Shutesbury Bike Day
The Shutesbury Recreation Committee (my wife a member) organized a community bike day. A kids bike ride (really, just a big ride around) and free fixes from local mechanics - me!
I picked up some bike cleaner, brake housing, and brake cables from Hampshire Bike Exchange with a $100 budget.
It was a great event! Kids rode bikes, adult and kids bikes were fixed. The most ambitious fix was using a pipe cutter to remove a seat on a kids bike, they wanted to save the bike for sentimental reasons and we got a new seat on it! I just happened to have a pipe cutter (no hack saw). The pipe cutter started to break apart halfway through, just when we'd made things worse before getting better. A vise grip clamped the cutter together well enough to finish the job!
We didn't use any of the brake stuff!
Fletcher helping me work on a mint old trek (that had lots of riding on it - you can tell from the amount of brake dust!):

That was in great shape, a tiny bit more rear shifter tension and a clean.
