About Me

I’m a rising junior at Virginia Tech, about to begin biking across the country this summer with Bike and Build. Since I’ve come to Tech, I’ve become involved in cycling and sustainability by joining the cycling team (being an officer for the second year coming up) and being a part of the Earth Sustainability class series.  I love it at Tech.  I’m majoring in Mathematics, so when I’m not doing math homework, I’ll be found cycling, promoting sustainability, or spending time with my girlfriend Lauren.

I’m an officer on the cycling team this coming year again, taking a step back from Apparel Coordinator which was fun but an incredible amount of work pulling off the $22,000 order.  This year I’m going to be the webmaster, and am in charge of the Cycling Team Website <- check it out.

One of the most interesting classes I am in is Earth Sustainability as it focuses on many of the issues that I am concerned about. This year, we completed a year-long action project big community bike ride in the spring, and making a bike blender! Whether or not it becomes part of the project, I’m also working with a whole bunch of groups and have applied for a Student Entreprenuership grant to bring a bike co-op to campus too! I’m also the leader of the Facebook group dedicated to Earth Sustainability students.

Some of the other groups that I have become involved with on campus are the Bike Co-operative, on which I’m a board member (and trying to get a space on campus), the SGA Sustainability Committee, the SGA Transportation Committee, and am still a psuedo-member of the Triathlon Team haha.

About the Site

I recently moved my webpage to Wordpress as a CMS, hosted at wordpress.com, and have since bought hosting from InMotion Hosting.  Still using ZoneEdit for DNS and Gmail for Domains for email, this setup is pretty ideal.

Wordpress makes it easy for me to manage the content, updated the site, and make blog posts with pictures! There’s even an app so that I can easily update from my phone, and I’m going to test that out this semester to see if I won’t need to bring a laptop this summer. Although I am bringing it.  Anyway, let me know what you think about the new site and such, now I can take comments!!
