Terre Haute, Indiana
Today we tallied over 1,000 miles on our journey across the country thus far! The 60 mile ride to Terre Haute, out of Bloomington, was awesome and flew right by. We put in all 60 miles, lunch included, before noon! The countryside noticeably flattened he further we went, and I could start to see the cornfields extend for maybe half a mile, almost to the plains for sure.
The morning started out with a little scare, when I went to retrieve my bibs and jersey that I had hung up on some hangers I found to discover that the room they were in had been locked! After a few phone calls though, we had someone at the church to let me in there by 6:30 (an hour after I woke up) and so it was all good. For breakfast I had 6 bowls of cheerios because we were trying to make space in the coolers and of course I had to help out as much as I could lol.
About 10 miles in we stopped to take a stretch break, and I got in an excellent stretch, one of the best I’ve had haha. I can almost lay my hands flat in front of my toes! At lunch, I had a delicious lunch too and yeah the rest of the ride was smooth sailin.
But it’s almost 11 and so we have to be back to the church, so I’ll finish tomorrow!

Hey, Andy! It was great havin’ y’all in Terre Haute.
You seem to be the only one to be blogging every day, with lots of photos, no less.
You know, your specific BnB route should have its own Facebook page that people along your route can “friend.” See if anyone in your group is up to setting that up.
I hope everyone enjoyed all the homemade food we had for you, the new washer and dryer, the DVDs left for people to enjoy (though I imagine you probably crashed early tonight).
Tell Dave (the Asian looking guy having the chai in one of your photos from this week that it was a pleasure meeting him (I sat across from him at dinner), as well as the guy from North Carolina next to me (and across from my mother), and the woman from Florida next to her.
Have a great build in St Louis! I have a friend in a band there and wish I had thought of that before. I have a good friend in Boulder CO and a close former girlfriend in Portland OR, too.
My brother went to Virginia Tech, so you’ve got Hokies fans here, too!
I suppose it’s NOT proper to say “break a leg!” in this case, is it? lol
(Speaking of which, do tell the woman who had the bad accident that she’s the prettiest woman with a black eye i’ve ever seen, so I hope she’s not feeling overly self-conscious about it. She should be proud, like Tour de France riders with road rash…)
