Bike and Build Orientation Day 2

So today was a ton of fun! We worked on bikes some more, did some drills, went on a RIDE, had dinner made by the church folks and painted the van!!

Here's the day in pictures:

Changing flats in the morning! Thanks to the owner of North End Cyclery!

Learning about handling and safety, we did some drills!

Half-way out on our shakedown ride, the whole group!

Lots more bikes!

Will, Heather and I

The lake was beautiful

But apparently it was pretty salty! I wasn't crazy enough to jump in haha

The dinner that the church made us was fantastic, soo nice of them!!

Projecting a US map onto the van to draw with my comp!! Got to show everyone my pictures from today and my background, Lauren :)

Today, again, was a blast and we're all pumped to take off tomorrow.  It's going to be tough saying goodbye to Lauren and my parents at the wheel dip ceremony in the morning, but I'm super glad they're coming!!

Bike and Build Day 1

Today I got ready for the trip with some final packing...really just waited for 2PM (and saw some dolphins on the beach before heading over) and after a day's worth of orientation, Bike and Build is now underway!

Some waves on the beach...

Dolphins!!!! There were tons of them....SO cool

We've been through the first day of orientation, a lot of getting to know names and learning more about our trip that begins so soon!  I've helped fix a lot of bikes, and distributed all 39 of the laundry loops that I ordered for everyone too.

Tonight's sleeping arrangements, a little cramped!

I feel like I already know everybody's name, many I learned before the trip.  Despite a mishap with my wheel today (I broke a nipple and need a special tool to fix it), I'm totally ready to set off and beyond excited!!
